The package adds a New Game+ feature, Spirit Guide trials, new Charmstones, and various accessories and outfits for our lovely protagonist. In addition to the Steam launch, a new “Anniversary Update” is available to download for free on all platforms. In any regard, Kena is a very attractive and charismatic venture, and deserving of the plaudits directed toward its visuals, audio, and satisfying mechanics. While the title does feature world traversal, puzzle-solving, and combat elements, it must be noted that the adventure is more a trek to be enjoyed than a challenge to overcome. Saved souls then populate the village and open up new opportunities for interaction with the game world. The protagonist is from the third-person perspective controlled and the player can climb and jump. The game world is not completely open, the player follows a linear path, but can discover alternative routes.
The player takes on the role of the heroine Kena, the initially abandoned village that serves as a hub from which the fantasy world is explored.
